An Aug. 15, 2022, article in Law360, titled “NJ Urges Against GE Wind Turbine Ban in Mass. Patent Row,” addresses New Jersey’s bid to continue working with GE on an offshore wind energy project involving GE’s Haliade-X turbines. A jury held in June 2022 that the turbines use technology that infringes a patent issued to BakerHostetler client Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE); following the June finding, SGRE requested a preliminary injunction against GE’s use of the Haliade-X. According to the article, New Jersey has told a Massachusetts federal judge that its offshore wind energy project predates the jury verdict by three years and is well underway – and that a decision to block New Jersey from receiving GE’s wind turbines would “significantly impede” the state’s project.  <a href="https://www.law360.com/articles/1521187/nj-urges-against-ge-wind-turbine-ban-in-mass-patent-row-">Read the article.</a>
