Partner James Sherer is quoted in an article published on Sept. 9, 2021, by Legaltech News. The article “4 Ways to Prepare for China’s Upcoming Data Protection Law” reports on steps companies should take to protect their data processing and collecting practices before China’s Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL) takes effect on Nov. 1.  Businesses will need to take a minimization approach prior to collecting personal information, Sherer said, adding, “Companies that are doing data collection implicating the PIPL should be thinking about how to focus those efforts and incorporate the minimum and necessary principle.”  <a href="https://www.law.com/legaltechnews/2021/09/09/4-ways-to-prepare-for-chinas-upcoming-data-protection-law/">Read the article (registration required).</a>
