Partner Todd Lebowitz is quoted in an article published on July 30, 2021, by Law360. The article “3 Takeaways from DOL’s Joint-Employer Rule Shakeup” reports on how the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) has officially nixed a Trump-era standard for determining when multiple employers are jointly liable for labor law violations.
“We knew this was coming,” Lebowitz told Law360. “What we didn't know is what rescission was going to mean.” So far, the DOL didn't point businesses to any other official guidance on joint employer liability. “Now we have no regulations for joint employment,” Lebowitz said. “It's just a black hole.”
