Ruth Hartman practices complex litigation, with an emphasis on business litigation, sales disputes governed by the Uniform Commercial Code, trademark and licensing disputes, and bankruptcy litigation. She is an effective problem solver and an aggressive litigator, dedicated to achieving the resolutions that her clients seek through the development of creative and effective strategies.

  • Served as counsel to the FDIC with respect to its $170 million dispute with AmTrust Financial Corp. and its affiliated debtors in the Northern District of Ohio.
  • Involved with numerous adversary proceedings to recover fraudulent transfers from feeder fund defendants for the fund of customer property in connection with BakerHostetler's role as court-appointed counsel to the Securities Investor Protection Act (SIPA) Trustee for the liquidation of Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC.
