Alexandra (Allie) Trujillo’s gift for communication and appreciation of other cultures gives her litigation practice a global reach. Allie works closely with U.S. and international companies in courts and arbitral tribunals around the world to handle their complex disputes, with an emphasis on energy disputes, breach of contract and commercial fraud, oil and gas litigation and financial matters. She has acted as lead associate in arbitrations before the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR), and handled all aspects of litigation in state and U.S. federal district courts.

International Arbitration and Litigation

  • Representing a Dutch company in a multimillion-dollar ICC arbitration regarding a desalinization project, with claims for indemnification based on a supply agreement, seated in Tel Aviv and involving an Israeli counterparty.
  • Representing a Mexican national and minority shareholder in a Mexican company with securing discovery in aid of Mexican proceeding under 28 USC § 1782.
  • Lead associate with small team that represented a U.S. “green energy” company in a $12 million ICC arbitration in Paris against an English counterparty.
  • Assisted in final hearing preparation for English client in $22.5 million ICC arbitration based on failed industrial project in Saudi Arabia, seated in England under English law.
  • Supported an enforcement proceeding for a U.S. oil services company that won a multimillion-dollar ICC arbitration award against Colombian entities.
  • Represented a Texas-based oil and gas company in a $70 million international arbitration award confirmation and enforcement proceeding in the Southern District of Texas.
  • Assisted in service as liaison counsel in parallel Mexican and U.S. litigation for a premier banking advisory firm involved in a multimillion-dollar dispute regarding the formation of a Real Estate Investment Trust in Mexico.
  • Provided assistance to a Mexican labor union seeking U.S. discovery in order to trace and recover stolen assets.
  • Helped prosecute claims of a Malaysian manufacturer of pipeline equipment in an ICDR arbitration against a U.S. energy company for breach of a long-term supply contract.

Oil, Gas and Energy Disputes

  • Lead associate with team representing an independent California-based oil and gas operator in a multimillion-dollar class action lawsuit brought by trust unitholders in California state court.
  • Assisting in case against alleged former landowner pertaining to illegal disposal of hazardous waste and contamination of groundwater in Louisiana federal court.
  • Provided support to trial team representing oil and gas drilling company that won $60 million jury verdict in Texas state court on counts of fraud, theft of trade secrets, conspiracy and breach of fiduciary duty.
  • Represented working interest owners against major oil company regarding gas well development in Pennsylvania.
  • Helped a private oil and gas company obtain a favorable verdict after a bench trial in a lawsuit against holding company regarding a breach of a pipeline operating agreement in North Texas.

Domestic Complex Commercial Litigation and Arbitration

  • Member of small team that represented a cryptocurrency start-up in domestic ICC arbitration seated in Houston, Texas involving alleged state and federal securities law violations, breach of contract and related common law claims.
  • Involved with Texas state court multi-district opioid litigation, with responsibilities including research, third-party discovery, deposition preparation and attendance, motion drafting and motions relating to third party fault.
  • Helped in Texas state court multi-district litigation and federal litigation arising out of a nationally reported shootout. Ended with settlement on favorable terms for client.
  • Part of small team that obtained dismissal in the Southern District of New York for lack of jurisdiction over a Nigerian shipping and logistics company and vacatur of a Rule B attachment.
  • Lead associate representing an energy company in numerous Telephone Consumer Protection Act cases. All cases settled on favorable terms for client.
