  • Since 2008, have served as court-appointed counsel to the SIPA Trustee Irving H. Picard for the liquidation of BLMIS. More than 1,000 lawsuits seeking the return of fictitious profits and fraudulent transfers have recovered more than $14.5 billion, and more than $13.7 billion has been distributed to eligible BLMIS customers, inclusive of SIPC advances.
  • Represented the Official Committee of Tort Claimants in the bankruptcy of PG&E, the sixth-largest bankruptcy filed in the U.S. The firm fought to recover as much as possible for fire victims and ultimately procured a $13.5 billion settlement within 18 months of the bankruptcy filing.
  • Represented the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation as receiver in four bank failures, including complex litigation over issues relating to capital commitments made by bank holding companies to their regulators as well as disputed ownership of hundreds of millions of dollars of tax refunds and fraud and preference claims.
  • Represented Limetree Bay Refinery, LLC and its six related affiliates as Chapter 11 debtor’s counsel. Were awarded Global M&A Network’s Turnaround Atlas Award for Energy Restructuring of the Year.
  • Representing Entrust Energy, Inc. and its affiliates as Chapter 11 debtor’s counsel.
  • Representing the Chapter 11 trustee of Americore Holdings, LLC in 11 related healthcare Chapter 11 cases involving hospitals, nursing schools and residency programs.
  • Represented, as debtors’ counsel, Uplift LLC and Alliance Health Networks Inc. as well as 62 related debtors in Chapter 11 cases.
  • Representing Kalera Inc., a vertical farming company, in its Chapter 11 case.
  • Representing the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in Chapter 11 cases of Advantage Rent a Car and affiliated companies.
  • Representation of purchasers of distressed assets both in court and out of court, including numerous cases involving skilled nursing facilities, hotels, manufacturers, automotive companies and purchasers of secured debt.
  • Representation of secured lenders for out-of-court restructurings involving hotels and alternative energy and manufacturing companies.
