Financial Services: Regulatory and Compliance

Overview

Financial services companies require meticulous, but practical, counsel regarding regulatory, compliance and licensing issues. Our team understands the complex and competitive landscape of financial services, including the rapidly evolving regulations relating to financial technology (fintech), or fintech; blockchain applications and cryptocurrencies; data privacy and cybersecurity; and sanctions and anti-money laundering (AML). We advise banks, nonbank lenders, insurance companies, money services businesses (MSBs), cryptocurrency exchanges and other financial services clients across a wide variety of matters including advice and counseling, policy formation, best practices, regulatory enforcement actions, and litigation.

Our team includes several former regulators who maintain effective working relationships with agency decision-makers and key industry leaders. Together, we work with clients to guide them forward and reduce their regulatory risks. Clients turn to us for assistance with conducting transaction due diligence, risk assessments and internal investigations; responding to state and federal regulatory examinations, investigations, and licensing questions; and defending against claims in state, federal and administrative proceedings.
