Overview

Jared Brandyberry is an intellectual property attorney who assists clients with all aspects of building and maintaining robust IP portfolios. He assists clients with everything from procuring patent protection, registering trademarks and copyrights, and preserving trade secrets, to licensing IP rights, enforcing IP rights and defending against IP infringement allegations. Jared's practice allows clients to respond effectively and efficiently to complex legal challenges regarding their products and services.

  • Through 70+ patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret, and licensing litigation matters, led all stages of litigation including coordinating collection and review of electronically stored information during discovery, taking and defending the depositions of key witnesses, participating in alternative dispute resolution proceedings, drafting and arguing dispositive, discovery, and pretrial motions, negotiating settlement agreements, and filing and defending appeals at the Federal Circuit.
  • Manage IP portfolios for multiple small to mid-size companies including handling patent and trademark preparation and prosecution matters, licensing and assignment agreements, and due diligence for acquisitions and financing rounds.
  • Served as trial counsel in four cases, two before juries in the Southern District of Ohio and Eastern District of Texas, and two before the International Trade Commission. Role on trial teams included direct and cross-examination of lay and expert witnesses.

  • Drafted multiple inter partes review petitions challenging the validity of patents involving technologies such as encryption techniques and semiconductor designs.
