Jason Oliver is a litigation attorney with a focus on complex intellectual property disputes, advising clients on patent, trademark and copyright infringement matters. He plays an instrumental role in all aspects of the representation process, from drafting motions through participation in court hearings.
Jason is innovative in his work, developing the best courses of action to grant clients their desired intellectual property rights, whether through litigation or existing portfolio review and analysis.
Jason is also involved and invested in the startup community, representing and counseling clients in a wide variety of technology verticals. He serves as a member of the firm’s nationwide Emerging Company team.
Trademark Litigation/Enforcement
- Represented a leading family office and financial adviser entity in connection with the prosecution of a trademark infringement action in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. Obtained favorable settlement at outset of discovery, which included broad injunctive relief and a portion of attorneys’ fees associated with the action.
Copyright Litigation
- Represented a foreign emerging technology consulting firm and secure online transaction provider in defense of a copyright infringement action associated with new business ventures in the United States. Efficiently settled the matter for the client in order to eliminate exposure to the threat of infringement. Counseled the same company in connection with the procurement of U.S. intellectual property rights.
Patent Litigation
- Represented foreign weapons manufacturer in connection with the filing of a petition for inter partes review (IPR) related to competitor’s patents covering a scope for a firearm. Worked with foreign counsel to secure a global settlement agreement ending litigation in multiple jurisdictions.
