Overview

As Counsel, Jayshree Jewett leads the current General Counsel Services team of eleven attorneys, advising clients on domestic and international transaction negotiation and management, corporate compliance, governance and risk assessment. She draws on her 16 years of international and domestic experience to provide strategic advice on complex corporate and commercial matters to the legal departments and operational teams of public and private equity companies. She has significant experience negotiating diligence and master services agreements related to M&A transactions.

Jayshree develops an in-depth understanding of her clients' processes, services and goals, and she works closely with her team to unify clients' agreements and legal documents. She handles complicated challenges in a fast paced, high-pressure environment to help clients achieve positive results within an agreed-upon budget. 

Jayshree previously served as General Counsel of Fiji Airways.

  • Renegotiated collective bargaining agreements with unions representing pilots and flight attendants, significantly reducing labor costs by $10 million and increasing productivity for international airline.
  • Represented international airline service in restructuring individual employment agreements, resulting in a 20% reduction in employee costs, and effectively managed employee redundancies as a part of the overall restructuring process.
  • Led seamless transition of wholesale rebranding and change of corporate name from major international airline, including all aspects of its intellectual property portfolio, regulatory compliance and corporate transactional matters.
  • Managed the worldwide trademark and domain portfolio on behalf of global airline and its subsidiaries.
  • Led all aspects of legal affairs for international airline service, including its wholly owned subsidiary, in Fiji, Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, the South Pacific Island Group, Hong Kong, and the United States, reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director and Board of Directors.
  • Led trademark cancellation petition with the United States Trademark Trial and Appeal Board to cancel infringing trademarks.
  • Drafted, reviewed, and negotiated asset transfer agreements for mega-churches, joint venture agreements between nonprofits and for-profit entities, franchise agreements, independent contractor agreements, and intellectual property contracts.
