She has advised clients on a broad range of matters, including commercial disputes, bankruptcy related issues and telecommunications agreements.

Additionally, Jo Ann's engineering degree offers unique insight on the interests and challenges of technology driven clients. She is currently a member of the BakerHostetler team serving as court-appointed counsel to Trustee Irving H. Picard for the SIPA liquidation of Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC, an unprecedented recovery effort involving hundreds of actions.

  • As a member of the BakerHostetler team serving as counsel to the Securities Investor Protection Act (SIPA) Trustee for the liquidation of Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC (BLMIS), assists with avoidance actions against hedge funds and banks that invested in BLMIS through feeder funds by developing solutions to constitutional and international law issues, drafting complaints and briefs and conducting legal research.
  • Provides counsel for a major telecommunications company in teaming agreements and advises on the risks of construction agreements prior to execution.
  • Experienced in discovery issues including efficiently managing document review teams, assisting teams in creating discovery protocols, drafting discovery requests, objections and responses and preparing for depositions and discovery related motion practice and hearings.
