  • Currently involved in representing Irving H. Picard, Securities Investor Protection Act (SIPA) Trustee for the liquidation of Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC (BLMIS), in connection with BakerHostetler’s role as court-appointed counsel. Litigates multimillion-dollar avoidance and recovery actions against foreign and domestic defendants to recover fraudulent transfers received from BLMIS. 
  • Represented developers in obtaining environmental approvals and permits and in litigation seeking compensation for remediation of contaminated property under the United States Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) and the New York State Navigation Law.

  • Conducted multinational investigations in the United States and Europe to trace billions of dollars of assets that stemmed from Bernard Madoff’s Ponzi scheme. Drafted legal applications and other documents in U.S. and European tribunals to recover monies discovered as a result of these investigations.
  • Supervised outside investigative firms in worldwide fact gathering investigations in the U.S., Europe and Caribbean.
  • Represented the court-appointed Securities Investor Protection Act Trustee as a private party in foreign criminal proceedings in multiple jurisdictions.
