Overview

Nolan McKeever concentrates his transactional practice on commercial real estate transactions, assisting clients in the acquisition, disposition, leasing and development of commercial real estate throughout the U.S. and abroad, spanning a variety of industries and asset classes, including office, retail, restaurant, industrial and mixed-use properties. Nolan has significant experience representing retail clients in leasing and development matters involving shopping centers and stand-alone parcels, helping clients to navigate issues related to use restrictions, access, exclusive use covenants, occupancy thresholds, anchor tenant protections and sales-based rent.

Nolan also has experience representing large hospital systems in acquisition, disposition, development and leasing transactions, subject to healthcare regulations such as Stark and Anti-Kickback law. With a passion for creative problem-solving and tactful drafting, Nolan helps clients accomplish their current objectives and anticipate future objectives by immersing himself in their businesses and understanding the complexities of each transaction and opposing party.

Select Experience

  • Prepares and negotiates ground leases, office leases, timeshares, licenses, subleases and closing documentation for hospitals, medical office buildings and other healthcare facilities.
  • Provides real estate advice and counsel to multiple publicly traded retail clients on a broad range of commercial real estate matters, including negotiating commercial retail leases, ground leases, subleases and security agreements; managing acquisitions and dispositions of improved and unimproved property, including 1031 exchange transactions; navigating the leasing and development implications of COVID-19 shutdowns; preparing standard real estate forms for use in future transactions; and utilizing BakerHostetler’s robust attorney network to offer strategic counsel for clients’ multi-jurisdictional lease portfolio.
  • Provides real estate advice and counsel with respect to mergers, acquisitions and other corporate transactions, with an emphasis on providing value and efficiency to clients, using his depth of experience across industries to effectuate corporate transfers involving real property, personal property and improvements.

  • Represents an Atlanta area nonprofit, faith-based organization dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty and homelessness for Georgia’s underprivileged communities in all aspects of the sale of their existing headquarters and the acquisition and development of a new headquarters, homeless shelter and donation center.
