Overview

Trevor Stanley represents clients in the public, private and non-profit sectors. Focusing his practice in the areas of litigation and political law, Trevor provides legal guidance to some of the largest political action committees in the U.S. He also advises presidential candidates, members of Congress and other individuals and organizations in the political arena on campaign finance, “pay-to-play,” ethics and lobbying regulations. Trevor also has particular experience in the state campaign finance regime.

Trevor has appeared on behalf of clients before U.S. federal district and state courts. Trevor has experience in complex civil and international litigation matters, as well as in contract award protests before the U.S. Government Accountability Office and the United States Court of Federal Claims. In addition, he has appeared on behalf of clients before the Federal Election Commission.

  • Lead counsel in breach of contract matter involving accounting firm in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Obtained settlement for client.  
  • Local counsel for food packaging producer in Virginia in multidistrict commercial contract dispute with supplier. Resulted in settlement for client.  
  • Local counsel for health care provider in proceeding involving Anticybersquatting Consumer Protection Act in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia in which court entered injunctive relief and judgment for client. 
  • Obtained favorable rulings in connection with pre-award and post-award protests filed with the U.S. Government Accountability Office and the U.S. Court of Federal Claims on behalf of large and small businesses. 
  • Involved in representing Irving H. Picard, Securities Investor Protection Act (SIPA) Trustee for the liquidation of Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC, in connection with BakerHostetler's role as court-appointed counsel.
