Partners Steven Goldberg, Matthew Gases and John Lehrer, together with Associate Richard Reis, represented founders Agrinergia SA and Nanzenji SA as U.S. counsel in connection with global private investment firm Ardian’s acquisition of French renewable energy producer Akuo Energy SAS. Closing occurred July 2, 2025.
The acquisition adds 1.9GW of solar and wind energy capacity, operational or under construction, into Ardian’s portfolio and reinforces its long-term commitment to clean energy infrastructure. It will also support Akuo’s goal of reaching 5GW of installed renewable capacity by 2030.
Other firms involved in the transaction included Morgan Lewis, Scotto Partners (France), Weil Gotshal & Manges and Alerion Avocats (France).
