Partner Margaret Isa Butler led a team that included Partners Alexis Beachdell, Jorian Rose, Douglas Shively, Betsy Smith, Stefan Smith and Associate Jennifer Dare in representing crowdfunding platform Indiegogo in its acquisition by crowdfunding platform Gamefound. The merger of the two entities is expected to launch the most powerful, creator-focused crowdfunding platform in the world, offering stronger tools, clearer terms and more successful outcomes.
Founded in Poland, Gamefound is one of the largest platforms for boardgames, built with a focus on user experience that will now be used to power all of Indiegogo’s categories. Indiegogo has over 17 years in the industry, with 38 million members and close to $38 billion raised for ideas around the world. As one of the original pioneers of crowdfunding, the company is known for launching bold projects in tech, design, film and the arts.
