Counsels Kevin Barnett and Jon Knight and Associate Kristen Bertch co-authored an article in Modern Casting titled “Department of War Suspends CMMC Phase II: What You Need to Know.” Published in the September 2026 issue, the article discusses the Department of War announcement about the immediate suspension of Phase II of the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) program as the department performs a comprehensive review of the certification framework to decide whether and how the CMMC program should continue. It also provides guidance as to how contractors should proceed in the meantime.
