Partner George Stamboulidis is quoted in an article published Feb. 21, 2013, in the New York Daily News. The article, “Worker Sues Union for Employment Bias Because of Roots to Mobster Who Inspired ‘Goodfellas’ Role,” reports on a failed lawsuit filed by a construction worker who claimed he was unfairly rejected by a the crane operators’ union because he’s related to mobster Paul “Paulie” Vario, who was played by actor Paul Sorvino in the move Goodfellas.  After a federal judge threw out the lawsuit against Local 14-14B of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Stamboulidis told the Daily News, "As Local 14-14B&#39;s Court-appointed Ethical Practices Attorney (EPA), I am committed to ensuring the fair administration of the union&#39;s job referral procedures free from both the influence of Cosa Nostra and corruption and the appearances of such influences.”  <a href="http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/mob-great-nephew-sues-union-alleged-tie-article-1.1270527">Read full article</a>.
