Partners Greg Ulmer and James Phillips and Associate Ryan Walton collaborated on a chapter for Product Liability & Safety 2026: A Chambers Global Practice Guide, titled “Nuclear Verdicts and the Expanding Concept of the ‘Product.’” Posted June 18, 2026, the chapter discusses “nuclear verdicts,” which refer to jury awards exceeding eight or nine figures, noting that the number of these are at an all-time high. As a significant number of these are product cases, the awards are an indicator of how juries evaluate corporate conduct, risk allocation and responsibility.
