Partners Paul Levine, Analía González and Carlos Ramos-Mrosovsky will take part in Washington Arbitration Week 2025, Oct. 6-10, 2025. Levine will moderate a panel titled “NAFTA 3.0: The Future of ISDS in North America,” a discussion on the future of investor-state dispute settlement (ISDS) in today’s geopolitical and economic climate.
González will serve as a panelist for a session titled “Exceptions in Investment Chapters of Free Trade Agreements.” The panel will examine the use of free trade agreements, how general exceptions are being drafted and applied in arbitration, and whether they offer a real path toward a more balanced and sustainable investment framework.
Ramos-Mrosovsky will join a panel titled “Annulment of ICSID (and non-ICSID) Awards as Well as Aspects of Their Enforcement in the U.S.,” which will look at the use of annulment proceedings in investor-state dispute settlements. The panel will also discuss findings from Baker Botts’ second annulment study, for which the team reviewed more than 200 ICSID annulment proceedings and more than 150 non-ICSID investor-state annulment proceedings across 16 jurisdictions.
