House Republicans plan to take up a “laddered” continuing resolution with programs expiring on different timelines, but its passage is far from certain.

The House will be in <a href="https://www.majorityleader.gov/schedule/weekly-schedule.htm">session</a> today through Thursday, with Republicans <a href="https://punchbowl.news/article/mike-johnson-shutdown-watch-laddered-cr/">attempting</a> tomorrow to pass their “laddered” resolution to extend funding for some agencies into January and others into February.

The House Homeland Security Committee on Wednesday will hold a <a href="https://homeland.house.gov/hearing/worldwide-threats-to-the-homeland/">hearing</a> on worldwide threats with Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, FBI Director Chris Wray, and National Counterterrorism Center Director Christine Abizaid.

Also Wednesday, the Financial Services Committee will hold an <a href="https://financialservices.house.gov/calendar/eventsingle.aspx?EventID=409027">oversight hearing</a> with senior officials from the Federal Reserve, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, National Credit Union Administration, and Office of the Comptroller of Currency.

The Senate will be in <a href="https://www.senate.gov/legislative/floor_activity_pail.htm">session</a> today through Thursday, continuing to <a href="https://www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/executive_calendar/xcalv.pdf">take up</a> Biden’s judicial nominees and beginning procedural votes this evening on a continuing resolution.

Tuesday, the Senate Banking Committee will hold an <a href="https://www.banking.senate.gov/hearings/oversight-of-financial-regulators-protecting-main-street-not-wall-street">oversight hearing</a> with the same panel of prudential regulators as the House Financial Services Committee.

Wednesday, the Foreign Relations Committee will hold a <a href="https://www.foreign.senate.gov/hearings/us-leadership-on-artificial-intelligence-in-an-era-of-strategic-competition">hearing</a> on artificial intelligence.

Today, Biden will <a href="https://www.nhl.com/goldenknights/news/champs-to-visit-white-house-nov-13">congratulate</a> the Vegas Golden Knights on winning the 2023 Stanley Cup, and <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/statements-releases/2023/11/07/statement-from-press-secretary-karine-jean-pierre-on-the-bilateral-meeting-between-president-joe-biden-and-president-joko-widodo-of-indonesia/">host</a> a bilateral meeting with President Joko Widodo of Indonesia.

The rest of the week, the president will be in San Francisco to <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/statements-releases/2023/10/27/statement-from-press-secretary-karine-jean-pierre-on-president-bidens-travel-to-san-francisco-for-apec-leaders-week/">host</a> representatives from the 21 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) member economies for APEC Economic Leaders’ Week.

Wednesday, Biden will <a href="https://apnews.com/article/biden-xi-apec-china-taiwan-cfd0b5a708a3506c4438e43b1b26c93d">meet</a> with his Chinese counterpart, Xi, in San Francisco.
