The Science, Space, and Technology Subcommittee on Research and Technology will hold a <a href="https://science.house.gov/2026/1/research-and-technology-subcommittee-hearing" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">hearing</a> Wednesday on the White House’s <a href="https://www.ai.gov/action-plan" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">AI Action Plan</a> with Office of Science and Technology Policy Director Michael Kratsios.

Also Wednesday, the Energy and Commerce Communications and Technology Subcommittee will hold an oversight <a href="https://energycommerce.house.gov/events/c-and-t-subcommittee-oversight-of-the-federal-communications-commission" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">hearing</a> with the Federal Communications Commission.

The Senate will <a href="https://rollcall.com/2026/01/12/this-week-spending-sprint-continues-venezuela-war-powers-expected-to-get-a-vote/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">take up</a> a House-passed package of fiscal year 2026 appropriations legislation.

On Thursday, the Banking Committee plans to <a href="https://www.banking.senate.gov/hearings/01/09/2026/executive-session" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">vote on</a> landmark legislation to regulate cryptocurrency markets.

Also Thursday, the Commerce Committee will hold a <a href="https://www.commerce.senate.gov/2026/1/chairman-cruz-announces-kids-screen-time-hearing_2" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">hearing</a> on the impact of technology on kids.

This afternoon, Trump will <a href="https://www.forth.news/whpool/CX2kmkvZ17tCxc2i6Jn1J" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">meet</a> with Archbishop Paul Coakley, President of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, and with Frank Siller, CEO of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.

Tomorrow, Trump will travel to Michigan to <a href="https://www.freep.com/story/news/politics/2026/01/10/donald-trump-michigan-detroit-economic-club-visit-speech/88118101007/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">speak</a> to the Detroit Economic Club.

The White House <a href="https://www.axios.com/2026/01/11/nobel-maria-corina-machado-trump-prize-transfer" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">expects</a> a visit from Machado, but has not yet announced details of the meeting.
