HEADLINES



<ul>
<li>President Joe Biden will visit Buffalo Tuesday, after 10 people died in a supermarket <a href="https://buffalonews.com/news/local/crime-and-courts/buffalos-worst-mass-shooting-takes-10-lives-leaves-3-wounded/article_6e8132fa-d3b7-11ec-a714-2b3fbeaf848c.html">shooting</a> that local authorities have described as “straight up, a racially motivated hate crime.”</li>



<li>Pennsylvania voters on Tuesday will <a href="https://www.post-gazette.com/news/politics-state/2022/05/03/pennsylvania-primary-election-guide-pittsburgh-senate-house-legislature-pittsburgh-fetterman-lamb-oz-mccormick/stories/202205010177">choose</a> their parties’ nominees for the November general election, including for retiring Republican Sen. Pat Toomey’s seat, sure to be among this year’s most hotly contested races.</li>



<li>Congress and the White House are scrambling to <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2022/05/15/baby-formula-shortage-house-bills/9785727002/">address</a> a nationwide shortage of baby formula that has left some parents desperate.</li>

HOUSE



<ul>
<li>The House will be in <a href="https://www.majorityleader.gov/content/weekly-leader-friday-may-6-2022">session</a> this evening through Thursday, with <a href="https://www.speaker.gov/newsroom/51322-1">plans</a> to take up legislation to address the baby formula shortage.</li>



<li>Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Tuesday will <a href="https://www.speaker.gov/newsroom/42822-0">speak</a> before a joint session of Congress.</li>



<li>Ongoing hearings on the president’s budget are highlighted by Labor Secretary Marty Walsh <a href="https://appropriations.house.gov/events/hearings/fy-2023-budget-request-for-the-department-of-labor">testifying</a> Tuesday at the House Appropriations Committee.</li>

SENATE



<ul>
<li>The Senate will give final <a href="https://www.npr.org/2022/05/15/1099018706/mcconnell-says-the-senate-will-pass-the-largest-ukraine-aid-package-yet-on-wedne">approval</a> to $40 billion in aid to Ukraine, after Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., temporarily delayed the legislation.</li>



<li>Senate budget hearings are highlighted by Interior Secretary Deb Haaland <a href="https://www.energy.senate.gov/hearings/2022/5/full-committee-hearing-to-examine-the-president-s-fy-2023-budget-request-for-the-department-of-the-interior">appearing</a> at the Energy and Natural Resources Committee Thursday.</li>



<li>The Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee will hold a <a href="https://www.help.senate.gov/hearings/cybersecurity-in-the-health-and-education-sectors">hearing</a> Wednesday on cybersecurity in the health and education sectors.</li>

WHITE HOUSE



<ul>
<li>Later today, Biden will <a href="https://www.voanews.com/a/greek-leader-set-for-talks-with-biden-over-turkey-energy-/6575065.html">host</a> Mitsotakis for a bilateral meeting at the White House.</li>



<li>The president and First Lady Jill Biden will <a href="https://buffalonews.com/news/local/president-first-lady-headed-to-buffalo-tuesday/article_362915e4-d49d-11ec-9581-23b14f3d77b3.html">visit</a> Buffalo Tuesday.</li>



<li>Thursday, Biden will travel to Seoul, South Korea, beginning his first <a href="https://www.scmp.com/week-asia/politics/article/3177722/joe-biden-plug-indo-pacific-strategy-japan-and-south-korea-eye">visit</a> to Asia as president.</li>
