 HEADLINES



<ul>
<li>Gun violence now dominates attention on Capitol Hill, amid a wave of shootings including the horrors in Uvalde, Texas, and in Buffalo.</li>



<li>The House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol will begin its public hearings.</li>



<li>President Joe Biden will travel to the West Coast for the Summit of the Americas.</li>
</ul>



HOUSE



<ul>
<li>The House will hold <a href="https://www.majorityleader.gov/content/weekly-leader-friday-june-3-2022">votes</a> Tuesday through Thursday, planning to take up <a href="https://rules.house.gov/news/announcement/meeting-announcement-hr-2377-and-hr-7910">legislation</a> to address gun violence. The House will also vote on a bipartisan <a href="https://docs.house.gov/billsthisweek/20220606/BILLS-117hr1776-SUS.pdf">reauthorization</a> of federal water infrastructure programs, and on the Food and Drug Administration’s user-fee <a href="https://docs.house.gov/billsthisweek/20220606/BILLS-117hr7667-SUSv1.pdf">programs</a> for medical devices and drugs.</li>



<li>The House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol will hold a <a href="https://january6th.house.gov/legislation/hearings">hearing</a> in primetime on Thursday.</li>



<li>The <a href="https://armedservices.house.gov/press-releases?ID=07910B46-F6B9-4794-A08D-E3298A8FF143">House</a> and <a href="https://www.armed-services.senate.gov/press-releases/reed-and-inhofe-announce-fy-2023-ndaa-markup-schedule">Senate</a> Armed Services Committee will begin marking up the Fiscal Year 2023 National Defense Authorization Act.</li>

SENATE



<ul>
<li>The Senate will <a href="https://www.senate.gov/floor/index.htm">reconvene</a> to consider more of President Biden’s nominees, and may also take up House-passed <a href="https://www.congress.gov/bill/117th-congress/house-bill/3967?r=1">legislation</a> to address the health of veterans exposed to burn pits.</li>



<li>The Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee will <a href="https://www.help.senate.gov/hearings/s-4348-and-s-958">take up</a> its <a href="https://www.help.senate.gov/chair/newsroom/press/senators-murray-burr-introduce-bill-to-support-fda-programs-to-lower-costs-and-spur-innovation-">version</a> of legislation to reauthorize FDA user-fee programs.</li>



<li>The Energy and Natural Resources Committee will hold a <a href="https://www.energy.senate.gov/hearings/2022/6/full-committee-hearing-to-examine-short-and-long-term-solutions-to-extreme-drought-in-the-western-u-s">hearing</a> on addressing extreme drought in the western United States.</li>

WHITE HOUSE



<ul>
<li>Biden will <a href="https://twitter.com/jimmykimmel/status/1533588009102327809?s=20&t=mImXbv4xT8ad34ugpoimEA">appear</a> on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on Wednesday.</li>



<li>Thursday and Friday, Biden will attend the ninth <a href="https://www.ixsummitamericas.org/">Summit of the Americas</a> in Los Angeles with other leaders from the region.</li>



<li>Saturday, Biden will visit Santa Fe to receive a <a href="https://www.krqe.com/news/politics/biden-to-visit-new-mexico-as-state-battles-record-wildfire/">briefing</a> on wildfires in New Mexico.</li>
