Ewa Champagne leads BakerHostetler’s General Counsel Services team, which provides long-term, continuous legal support to private equity sponsors and portfolio companies, life sciences companies, infrastructure and industrial businesses, financial services firms and other middle-market enterprises. She serves as a strategic extension of her clients’ in-house legal teams, advising on complex commercial contracting, corporate governance, compliance initiatives, strategic transactions and day-to-day legal operations.
Ewa has extensive experience negotiating and drafting a broad range of commercial agreements and managing enterprise contract programs including leveraged procurement programs. She also advises on diligence, confidentiality and other transaction-related agreements in connection with M&A. Ewa also develops technology-enabled legal solutions designed to improve efficiency, streamline contracting processes and strengthen compliance and risk management programs.
Before practicing law, Ewa served as an internal auditor for an international corporation with operations throughout Central and Eastern Europe, conducting on-site audits of business operations across the region. Drawing on her prior experience, Ewa delivers practical, business-focused advice informed by a deep understanding of financial, operational and compliance risks. She works closely with business leaders to develop pragmatic solutions that support growth while reducing legal exposure. She also oversees AML/KYC and vendor diligence programs for clients operating in regulated and international markets.
