Becky’s practice focuses on False Claim Act and other complex civil litigation, white collar defense, internal investigations, and government-facing civil and criminal litigation from the investigation stage through appeal. She draws on two decades of experience as a federal prosecutor to help clients respond to government scrutiny, manage high-stakes disputes and navigate sensitive regulatory and enforcement challenges. Clients rely on her to deliver clear strategy, sound judgment and practical solutions at every stage of a matter.

Before her appointment as U.S. attorney, Becky served as assistant U.S. attorney in the Northern District of Ohio, including as deputy chief of the Major Fraud and Corruption Unit and as appellate chief. She tried complex cases, including several lasting a month or more, directed large-scale, multiagency investigations, coordinated closely with federal, state and local partners and guided matters involving significant financial exposure and complex evidentiary issues.  She also built a strong appellate practice, regularly briefing and arguing cases before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, including <em>en banc</em>. She also handled complex post-conviction matters and defended trial outcomes in high-stakes appeals. She managed cases from investigation through appeal and developed a reputation for clear, persuasive advocacy in both trial and appellate courts.

After serving as a Sixth Circuit judicial law clerk, Becky began her legal career at BakerHostetler, where she represented corporate clients in complex litigation related to First Amendment claims (free speech, defamation, Ohio Sunshine Law and religious freedom cases), intellectual property issues (trademark, copyright and patent), employment matters (discrimination claims and non-compete clauses), construction litigation, business disputes and product liability claims. Her return to the firm reflects a full-circle career, allowing her to bring both government-side and private-practice perspectives to represent clients facing bet-the-company litigation and enforcement risk.
