Sashe has acted as counsel and as arbitrator in international and domestic commercial matters across North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. He sits as a neutral on the AAA, ICDR, and CPR panels and has served as sole and party-appointed arbitrator in commercial disputes in energy, construction, consumer/TCPA and professional liability. He is an Advisory Board member of the Institute for Transnational Arbitration (ITA) and serves on the CPR International Arbitration Committee.
Sashe is also an adjunct professor at the University of Houston Law School. He teaches classes in International Arbitration and International Risk Management in Oil Field Services. He has also lectured extensively on international arbitration and litigation topics throughout the United States as well as in Russia, England, North Macedonia, Poland, Qatar Kazakhstan and Mexico.
Finally, he has been on the ITA Advisory Board since 2013 as well as CPR International Arbitration Committee since 2019. He co-authored the revised CPR arbitration rules in 2023 and was appointed the CPR Energy, Oil and Gas Committee Co-Chair in 2024.

International Litigation and Arbitration
<ul>
<li>Represented an Eastern-European state-owned electricity utility in a dispute for the construction of an electric power transmission line to connect Macedonia with Albania and Greece. The dispute arose when the general contractor abandoned the project unless he was awarded substantial price increases (millions of Euros) and sought extended project completion timelines for the cross-country transmission line and its associated linkages. The contractor claimed the disruptions were caused by the Covid pandemic and rising costs resulting from the war in Ukraine. The employer’s counterclaims are based on claims of contractor-assumed risk, having to terminate the contract and retender the contract, using funds from the World Bank to finance the additional costs. The matter is ongoing.</li>
<li>Won full dismissal of all claims against Pacific Coast Energy Company, LP, an oilfield operator and its foreign investors in two AAA arbitrations – one involving a $132 million putative class action by disgruntled shareholders and the other, a $45 million dispute brought by a statutory trust relating to the sale of the client’s assets.</li>
<li>Represented a client developing data centers for Artificial Intelligence processing, in a dispute with a contractor over uninterruptible electric power arrangements. The case involved billions in energy contracts and a $240 million commission for the counter-party.</li>
<li>Represented a U.S. manufacturer of solar panels in two ICC arbitrations seated in Texas over a complex long-term supply agreement with a Spanish customer. Case settled on favorable terms.</li>
<li>Represented a large oil and gas company in an arbitration against a Russian oil company in a dispute regarding an agreement to provide funding and oilfield expertise in a joint venture to develop a Siberian oil field.</li>
<li>Represented private equity firm in an ICC arbitration against a consultant responsible for the sale of several integrated software companies and related corporations. The dispute centered around commission and pricing issues, and settled on favorable terms.</li>
<li>Represented a US subcontractor in an ICC construction arbitration in Madrid. The contractor built a water desalination plant to convert sea water from the Mediterranean Sea to drinking water. The project was designed to provide Israel with 40% of its fresh drinking water and had significant performance issues related to water quality and cost overrun issues. After a full hearing, the matter settled amicably.</li>
<li>Represented a US company in a SIAC arbitration against the government of Indonesia. The client entered a contract with the government to analyze Indonesia’ carbon credits and create a new market to sell them on the international market. The government of Indonesia terminated the $200 million contract.</li>
<li>Won dismissal of all claims against an international oil and gas exploration company for additional “mining fees and taxes” brought by the government of the Ivory Coast, Africa, in an arbitration before the ICSID. The government threatened to arrest the client’s executives in-country and nationalize the client’s facilities. In the arbitration, the Ivory Coast’s claims were dismissed and we negotiated a new contract that protected the client’s future interests against future changing laws or administrations.</li>
<li>Represented two Japanese shipping companies in an ad hoc arbitration asserted by one of the largest automobile companies whose automobiles were transported to various world markets. The allegations were based on the fees and “roll on, roll off” cargo services as well as allegations of antitrust violations.</li>
<li> Prosecuted claims of a Malaysian manufacturer of pipeline equipment in an ICDR arbitration against a U.S. energy company for breach of a long-term supply contract. Complex matter involving U.S. governmental regulatory issues as well as technical disputes over manufacturing standards.</li>
<li>Prosecuted claims of an oil and gas exploration company relating to its claims at the LCIA against a Nigerian drilling company, while concomitantly addressing related complicated multijurisdictional proceedings around the world. Ultimately negotiated a settlement, and the client company collected an eight-digit recovery. To obtain security for the award, won interim measures awards in courts worldwide, including:
<ul>
<li>Arresting several million dollars in cash that flowed through U.S. intermediary banks in New York.</li>
<li>Arresting $400 million of physical assets in Dubai.</li>
<li>Obtaining injunctions in Panama and Cyprus to prevent the assets’ sale or mortgage until the end of the LCIA proceedings, so the assets could be used as security to satisfy a potential award.</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Won ICC arbitration in a dispute over agreements for our client to develop a medical “app” that could remotely and cost-effectively diagnose medical conditions and pay for the treatment using cryptocurrency. The Russian investor sued our clients who were doctors that developed the app, claiming they delayed too long in releasing it. We successfully defended the arbitration citing U.S. government regulations that prohibited the issuance of such apps because the “tokens” involved constituted “securities” under the U.S. Securities and Exchange regulations and were therefore prohibited during the relevant time period.</li>
<li>Prosecuted claims of a “green energy” company against the manufacturer of an industrial furnace that recycled precious metals from waste electronic mother boards in computers. The arbitration was between our client and the English manufacturer of the industrial furnace that would melt the computer parts and extract the precious metals in an environmentally safe manner. The case was an ICC arbitration sited in Paris.</li>
<li>Represented an oil and gas operator in an LCIA arbitration involving an indemnity claim for the wrongful death of a rig worker who died in an explosion while working off-shore in Iraq.</li>
<li>Successfully defended against claims of an industrial valve distributor in an ICDR arbitration against the manufacturer. Settled the case with all claims dismissed against the client and the claimant paying money to settle the client’s counterclaims.</li>
<li>Representing refractory manufacturer in a $22.5 million International Chamber of Commerce arbitration, under English law and seated in London, involving client’s alleged liability for the catastrophic failure of eight industrial smelting furnaces for an aluminum plant in Saudi Arabia.</li>
<li>Prosecuted the claims of U.S. shareholders against a French medical device company alleging manufacturing issues in an ICC arbitration under the CPR rules. Settled the matter on terms favorable for the client.</li>
<li>Won injunctive relief in a U.S. district court against a foreign government-owned oil company to enjoin the recognition and enforcement of an Albanian UNCITRAL arbitration.</li>
<li>Successfully defended the respondent in four separate trials before the ITC against claims for patent infringement in the design, manufacturing and sale of semiconductors.</li>
<li>Acted as settlement counsel for an oil and gas exploration company that was engaged in six years of ongoing litigation with an international oil field services company in Trinidad. Settled all claims in two months, resulting in significant savings to the client and preservation of customer relationships.</li>
</ul>
Oil, Gas and Energy Disputes
<ul>
<li>Defended a large oil and gas equipment manufacturing company from claims of fraud, breach of contract, breach of warranty and negligence resulting from a broken deep-water riser while the plaintiffs were conducting drilling operations in the South China Sea. Case was settled on terms favorable to the client.</li>
<li>Defended a major pipeline company in a class action arising from an oil spill in Louisiana. Defeated class certification and settled the remaining claims on favorable terms.</li>
<li>Represented an oil services company against a major oil company for $25 million in service fees owed for support of offshore drilling in Angola, Africa.</li>
<li>Represented working interest owners against major oil company regarding gas well development in Pennsylvania.</li>
<li>Represented exploration company against defendant regarding pooling dispute in Colorado.</li>
<li>Represented a Fortune 100 company oilfield services company related to the sale of a Colombian oil services company. The arbitration was based on Colombian law and seated in New York. Won all claims for the client as well as an award of $1.3 million in attorneys’ fees and the cost of the arbitration.</li>
<li>Defeated an emergency petition at the U.K. High Court in London for provisional measures before the ICC seeking to prevent client from collecting a multimillion-dollar performance bond. Won underlying ICC arbitration regarding the purchase of a faulty industrial furnace from an engineering company.</li>
</ul>
Domestic Litigation
<ul>
<li>Represented major airline company in dispute over merger terms.</li>
<li> Successfully defended major oil company in 14 separate actions brought by 14,000 plaintiff suit arising from the rupture of an oil pipeline that was unearthed and broken in a river that due to rising waters caused by a hurricane. Jury found no liability due to an act of god defense.</li>
<li>Represented oil and gas operators in multiple suits arising over working interest cost disputes, ownership rights, royalties and related matters.</li>
<li>Won jury verdict defending a chemical plant in a wrongful death case based on purported exposure to benzene in plant emissions.</li>
<li>Selected as Texas counsel for a chemical manufacturer. Representative cases include:
<ul>
<li>State court suit alleging cancer from exposure to vinyl chloride found in household products manufactured by the client. Won summary judgment.</li>
<li>Federal court suit in Beaumont, Texas, alleging paralysis and other damage to the plaintiff’s nervous system resulting from multiple chemical exposures. Won summary judgment.</li>
<li>State court suit alleging bladder cancer from exposure to an arsenic-based herbicide. Settled on terms favorable to the client.</li>
<li>Successfully represented multiple chemical manufacturing clients in a suit brought by former employees, contractors and landowners alleging personal injury and property damage due to chemical exposure.</li>
