Tim joined BakerHostetler after serving 10 years with the U.S. Department of Justice Antitrust Division, most recently as acting assistant chief of the Civil Conduct Task Force, where he was involved in and supervised the prosecution of complex antitrust conduct claims.

Tim previously served in the Antitrust Division front office as a counsel to the assistant attorney general and also as an international counsel. In these roles, he advised the Division’s political leadership on many of the most challenging policy issues, including those related to global regulation of technology platforms, standard essential patents, global due process safeguards and divergence in global enforcement policy.

Tim has represented clients in a range of sectors, including technology platforms, payment systems, semiconductors, advertising, transportation, oil field services, real estate, sports and agriculture. His recent matters include antitrust litigation involving algorithms in the real estate industry; the antitrust aspects of mergers and acquisitions for leading transportation, energy, technology, industrial products, logistics and media companies; and serving as outside general antitrust counsel for electric vehicle and pharmaceutical companies.  In matters relating to professional sports, Tim participated in cases at DOJ involving player compensation and player movement, licensing agreements and the legality of league rules.

<li>Represented a semiconductor company in federal private Section 2 case.</li>
