The passion behind Zach Bernard’s corporate practice runs as deep as the oil in Texas. From childhood memories made in courthouses investigating leases alongside his father, a third-generation member of an oil-and-gas family, to his pre-law school years spent in Texas fields scrutinizing instruments as a petroleum landman for exploration and production companies, Zach maintains strong connections to the energy industry, yet he positions himself as a corporate generalist, providing strategic counsel across a diverse range of sectors.
Today, his background merges with proven legal insight to facilitate a range of representations, including counseling energy-focused companies on their participation in upstream and midstream operations, as well as assisting energy and production companies, and oilfield product suppliers and manufacturers, in their participation in complex commercial transactions, including those involving various domestic and international service providers, vendors, suppliers, contractors and distributors.
Outside of the energy industry, Zach provides similar general counsel services to closely-held private business clients and emerging companies, as well as well-known publicly held companies, participating in a variety of commercial projects. He also works with numerous search funds, PE funds and independent sponsors in leveraged acquisitions, divestitures, recapitalizations and exit transactions.
Zach even participates in commercial real estate transactions and construction-based projects throughout the U.S., assisting clients (some of whom are Fortune 500 companies) in the acquisition, disposition, leasing and development of commercial real estate, spanning a variety of industries and asset classes, including office, retail, industrial and mixed-use properties.
