Overview

A registered patent attorney, Jonathan Werner focuses his practice on patent counseling, patent preparation and prosecution, and intellectual property due diligence in the biomedical, electromechanical and mechanical technology industries for domestic and international clients. Jonathan also assists clients with developing and strengthening their intellectual property portfolios.

Jonathan has worked with utility and design patents covering a broad range of technologies, including medical devices, surgical devices, power tools, manufacturing equipment and consumer goods. His experience working as a patent examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) gives him a depth of understanding regarding the patent application process and the functions of the USPTO, helping him navigate clients' needs with ease and efficiency. His knowledge of the examination process further helps him provide strategic counseling to clients seeking to expand their patent portfolios. In addition, Jonathan conducts due diligence investigations and prepares freedom to operate assessments as well as patentability and invalidity opinions.
