<li>Part of trial team that secured a decisive jury verdict on behalf of our client, an entertainment company, in a complex business dispute involving claims of breach of contract, defamation and tortious interference, and successfully obtained a directed verdict on counter-plaintiffs’ declaratory claim that certain contracts were void under Florida’s Talent Agency Act. <em> Signature Entertainment v Phillips</em>, Case No. 2021-CA-008261-O in the Circuit Court for the Ninth Judicial Circuit, in and for Orange County, Fla.</li>
<li>Represented general contractor in a AAA arbitration proceeding regarding subcontractor’s claims for breach of contract.  After a three-day evidentiary hearing, arbitrator rejected subcontractor’s claim and awarded client damages.</li>
<li>Obtained summary judgment in favor of a client in a contractual indemnity claim pending in Oakland County, Michigan.</li>
<li>Obtained summary judgment in favor of a client in a breach of contract action.</li>
<li>Obtained summary judgment in favor of a client for breach of contract arising from sale of business pending in the Circuit Court of the Ninth Judicial Circuit, in and for Orange County, Florida.</li>
<li>Represented franchisor in AAA arbitration proceeding involving a franchisee. Following evidentiary hearing, arbitrator awarded client full victory and rejected all of franchisor’s counterclaims.</li>
<li>Worked on appellate matters in federal and state court covering a wide range of topics, including personal jurisdiction, claims of privilege and other issues of statutory construction.</li>
<li>Member of a team that represented a defense contractor suing another contractor for breach of contract and various tort claims. Drafted complaint, interviewed clients and coordinated related litigation.</li>
<li>Counseled clients regarding regulatory compliance obligations in the healthcare and financial services industries.</li>
