Rolando focuses his practice on patent procurement, patent diligence and patent litigation support across a wide array of technologies that includes wireless communications including 5G millimeter wave technology, artificial intelligence, autonomous vehicle sensors, digital and analog circuits, semiconductor circuits and fabrication processes, solid-state storage devices, electrical power systems, electronic commerce systems and software applications. His clients include emerging and multinational Fortune 500 companies.
Rolando has extensive experience in the preparation and prosecution of U.S. and foreign patent applications, patent portfolio analyses and management, patent due diligence and freedom-to-operate analyses, as well as developing, strengthening, and managing his clients’ patent portfolios to maximize their commercial value.
Prior to practicing law, Rolando was an electrical engineer in the private aerospace industry in the research, design, development and integration of advanced military communication systems. In particular, he gained practical experience in high-speed routing and switching technologies, high-speed encryption system design, ASIC and FPGA chip development, cryptographic algorithm design, high-speed network processor design and multi-chip module FPGA emulation.
