Overview

Shannon Kidwell has more than 12 years of experience as a commercial real estate lawyer who counsels real estate investment trusts (REITs), healthcare systems and other businesses. She is proactive and thoughtful in considering clients' business goals and offers practical advice that addresses both essential legal details and "big picture" concerns.

Shannon has significant experience as in-house counsel for a national REIT, for which she handled commercial leasing across all property types, as well as the acquisition and disposition of improved and unimproved real estate.

Represented a national REIT in a $35 million land disposition in Virginia to a premier aerospace company.
Represented a national REIT in the negotiation of loan documents, preparation of closing documents and resolution of lender due diligence matters in connection with the collateral substitution of 21 properties located in multiple states to facilitate a $1.08 billion asset sale.
Represented a national REIT in the negotiation of loan documents, preparation of closing documents and resolution of lender due diligence matters for CMBS loans encumbering multiple properties in several states.
Represented a national REIT in the negotiation and administration of a $100 million-plus land disposition to the U.S. Army in connection with a Base Realignment and Closure in northern Virginia.
