LOS ANGELES — March 18, 2024 — BakerHostetler announced today that it has relocated its Los Angeles office to 1900 Avenue of the Stars in the heart of Century City’s vibrant business district. The office is situated in the <a href="https://www.andersontowers.com/">Anderson Towers</a> complex, consisting of two sister buildings on a 5-acre pad that is being transformed into a lush, parklike atmosphere with interconnected pathways.

Owned by Anderson Real Estate, the campus and buildings are being redeveloped as part of a $100 million capital enhancement project. When complete, the property will accommodate outdoor dining, meetings and casual space. It is connected to the Westfield Century City Mall by a footbridge running over Avenue of the Stars.

In 2019, BakerHostetler hired Los Angeles Managing Partner <a href="https://www.bakerlaw.com/professionals/eric-e-sagerman/">Eric Sagerman</a> as part of an overall strategic plan to grow in California. At that time, the LA office consisted of approximately 30 attorneys. Today the Century City office is home to nearly 70 attorneys, many of whom have joined laterally from other top AmLaw firms. Attorneys in the LA office offer full-service capabilities, including mergers and acquisitions, securities, complex litigation, digital assets and privacy, intellectual property, and labor and employment.

The corner of Century City, where the new office is located, is fast becoming one of the area’s most sought-after locations. In fact, the City of Los Angeles is projected to unveil an adjacent new Metro station extending service to Century City in 2026.

“Our move into Century City reflects the firm’s commitment to continued investment in our West Coast practices and people,” said <a href="https://www.bakerlaw.com/professionals/paul-m-schmidt/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Paul Schmidt</a>, BakerHostetler’s chairman. “I am thrilled that we were able to acquire modern space to efficiently support our growing headcount and dynamic client base.”

Under its new lease, BakerHostetler occupies nearly 40,000 square feet across two of the top floors of the 28-story high rise. The lease provides the firm with the option to acquire adjoining space that would enable it to double its current size as it continues to achieve its growth objectives.

BakerHostetler’s latest move is part of its West Coast strategy that also includes the opening of an office in San Francisco in 2020. Since 2019, the firm has added more than 120 attorneys on the West Coast.
