Sarah La Voi joins BakerHostetler’s Chicago office as a partner in the firm’s <a href="https://www.bakerlaw.com/DigitalAssetsDataManagement">Digital Assets and Data Management</a> Practice Group and a member of the <a href="https://www.bakerlaw.com/Advertising-Marketing-Digital-Media">Advertising, Marketing and Digital Media</a> team.

La Voi joins from WPP, where she served as general counsel, Commercial Legal and Business Affairs, Americas; her previous roles also include assistant deputy general counsel for Publicis Groupe and senior counsel for McDonald’s Corporation.

La Voi brings nearly two decade’s worth of experience in commercial transactions and advertising law, including key competence in change management, corporate governance, commercial negotiations and data ethics.

An accomplished attorney, La Voi brings with her a wealth of knowledge that spans the advertising space. Her arrival complements the depth of BakerHostetler’s DADM Practice Group, which was recently named a BTI Litigation Powerhouse, and the AMDM team, recognized by both Chambers and Legal 500 as a Tier 1 advertising practice. La Voi is extremely well known and respected for fronting key commercial partnerships in the advertising and media space, and her experience and practical know-how are immediate assets to both the firm and its clients.

Prior to joining BakerHostetler, La Voi was general counsel, Commercial Legal and Business Affairs, Americas for WPP, one of the world’s largest advertising and marketing agencies. As GC, she oversaw commercial, legal and business affairs for all of WPP’s content, health, tech, consulting and public relations agencies in the Americas. La Voi’s capabilities include sophisticated transaction and negotiating experience along with advertising clearance and compliance, sweepstakes and promotions, dispute resolution, adtech, and high-stakes regulatory responses (SEC, DOJ, FTC and state attorneys general). Other in-house experience includes leadership positions at Publicis Groupe, McDonald’s Corporation and Hyatt Hotels. Prior to law school, La Voi worked as an ad agency account executive and voice-over talent. Her solid reputation for commercial negotiations further strengthens the AMDM team, particularly in the representation of agencies, their clients and others in the advertising ecosystem.

La Voi received her B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison her MBA from DePaul Kellstadt School of Business and her J.D. from DePaul University.
