In a Jan. 28, 2026, MLex article titled “One Year In, Trump FTC Focused on Kids Privacy, Light-Touch AI Rules,” Of Counsel Daniel Kaufman commented on the slowdown of privacy enforcement at the Bureau of Consumer Protection in 2025 compared to the previous administration, stating that there will always be a review of ongoing cases to see which to continue and which to close before moving forward. A former acting director of the BCP, Kaufman also predicted an emphasis on the Take It Down Act in 2026.
