Partners Sabrina Shadi and Brian Harris, together with Associate Christian Vieira, collaborated on an article for Employee Relations Law Journal titled “Efforts to Expand Mini-WARN Acts’ Requirements Underscore the Importance of Knowing State-Level, Post-Sale Obligations Relating to a Plant Closing or a Mass Layoff.” Published in the Autumn 2025 issue, the article details “mini-WARN Acts,” as opposed to the federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act of 1988 (WARN Act) regarding plant closings or mass layoffs. Mini-WARN Acts are at the state or local level and could require additional obligations in the sale of a business and/or reduction in work force.
