Carl Hittinger coauthored an article for Pennsylvania Law Weekly on "Competition in Pennsylvania," in which he discusses Pennsylvania's approach toward antitrust law, given the fact that Pennsylvania does not have its own antitrust statute. Hittinger provides guidance for Pennsylvania businesses and advises them to not be dismissive or passive when it comes to potential antitrust situations due to the lack of a statute. Because federal statutes have broad scopes, Hittinger writes, they encompass most businesses in Pennsylvania, making it critical for these companies to take the appropriate steps to engage in effective antitrust compliance programs to reduce the risk of potential liability or violations.
