Partner and co-leader of the White Collar, investigations and Securities Enforcement and Litigation Team John Carney will present at the 2026 Annual Conference of the National Association of Federal Equity Receivers, Oct. 19-22, 2026, in Aspen, Colorado. He will take part in the panel titled “Receiverships with Active Criminal Investigations.”
The panel will discuss best practices, complexities and insights regarding receiverships that occur simultaneously with federal criminal investigations involving grand juries, including:
- Secrecy obligations in grand jury proceedings
- Maintenance of attorney client privilege
- Voluntary and non-voluntary production of documents
- Use of receivership power to encourage cooperation with receivers and criminal authorities
- Best practices of sharing information voluntarily
- Best practices for sharing information in response to a search warrant
