Partner John Hilten was quoted in a Law360 article titled “USPTO is Seeing a Rise in Continued Examination Requests.” Published Sept. 25, 2026, the article examined the marked increase in request for continued examination requests and what is driving the uptick. Hilten opines that it’s due to direction from the USPTO to the examiners, telling them to focus on the backlog of new applications.
