Partner Kevin Zimmerman was featured in a Law360 profile as a 2026 “Rising Star.” Published Aug. 10, 2026, the profile highlights what initially brought him to the insurance industry and his continuing fascination with what trends will appear next. Zimmerman’s proudest moment was a Fifth Circuit decision that reversed a class certification of drivers suing a national automobile insurer after the litigants based their case on a 2017 ruling. Based on Zimmerman’s arguments, the circuit panel found the two cases to be distinct, and the panel reversed the certification.
Zimmerman focuses his practice on insurance class action litigation, representing insurance and financial services companies in state and federal courts across the country. He has defended class actions involving a variety of breach of contract theories, misrepresentation claims, the False Claims Act, unclaimed property laws and consumer protection laws. Zimmerman also has extensive experience handling reinsurance litigation and arbitration, insurer-agent disputes and other complex commercial litigation.
A team of editors reviewed more than 1,100 submissions from more than 90 firms to arrive at this year’s list of more than 160 attorneys from 35 practice areas.
