Vold’s remarks relate to the Food and Drug Administration’s new Digital Health Advisory Committee and what the committee’s formation means. “The FDA’s focus on digital health through this new advisory committee signals to me that it has identified what many practitioners have been confronting for the last several years: the line separating clinical decision support software (regulated) and a ‘resource’ (unregulated) is grayer than it ever has been with the rapid adoption and evolution of AI tools,” she says.
