Brigette Dechant is a complex commercial litigation associate focused on complex commercial disputes, environmental and energy litigation and regulatory enforcement matters. She represents clients in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies in highly regulated industries, assisting with complex disputes, enforcement actions and regulatory challenges.
Brigette handles the full life cycle of disputes including motion practice, discovery, trial preparation and appellate briefing, as well as mandamus, administrative proceedings and judicial review of agency decisions. Her experience includes complex administrative appeals and challenges to agency action, as well as appellate and amicus briefing on issues involving statutory interpretation, administrative law and regulatory authority.
Brigette's practice is anchored in industries where regulatory risk drives litigation exposure. She regularly represents clients in energy and environmental disputes, including contractual, operational and regulatory issues, and advises on environmental enforcement and compliance under federal and state statutes—including toxic tort litigation involving evolving regulatory frameworks such as PFAS and PFOA hazardous substance regimes. Brigette regularly advises clients on compliance strategy, regulatory investigations and agency negotiations, integrating litigation defense with proactive enforcement planning.
What distinguishes Brigette’s practice is her ability to anticipate how regulatory frameworks will be tested in litigation. Drawing on prior experience in the Texas Legislature and with a public affairs firm, she brings a working understanding of how legislative development, appropriations decisions and agency priorities translate into enforcement posture and litigation risk.
