Emily Ramos is a litigation attorney with a practice focused on bankruptcy and complex commercial matters. She has successfully represented several Fortune 500 companies, financial institutions and investors in a variety of high-stakes disputes in state and federal court. Emily’s practice includes advising creditors’ committees and other stakeholders on litigation risk, restructuring processes and strategic legal decisions in distressed scenarios. She has defended corporate clients in SEC inquiries, coordinating defense strategy and preparing for witness interviews and she is extensively involved in witness preparation for depositions, trial testimony and arbitration hearings. Her litigation work spans defending depositions, managing discovery disputes and preparing for oral arguments in both trial and appellate courts.
Before joining BakerHostetler, Emily served as a lead associate at her previous firm on high-profile matters, managing all aspects of case development, from strategy and factual investigations to supervising junior attorneys and paralegals. She is known for building strong relationships and offering trustworthy advice on complicated legal and business issues.
Emily's commitment to justice extends to her pro bono work, where she has successfully drafted and argued trial and appellate briefs, petitions and writs of mandamus. She has secured pardons and parole through advocacy before D.C. courts and state parole boards, demonstrating her dedication to meaningful legal impact beyond the commercial sphere.
