Matt also serves clients facing government investigations and enforcement actions, including from state attorneys general.  As a former Assistant Attorney General for Antitrust at the Colorado Attorney General’s Office, Matt has firsthand experience navigating single state and multistate investigative demands and lawsuits brought by state attorneys general across the country.

Matt recognizes that antitrust issues rarely stand alone.  He regularly advises on and litigates commercial questions and disputes that accompany antitrust concerns, including class actions, contracts, data privacy, labor and product liability.

<li>Defending a world-renowned academic hospital in a putative antitrust class action alleging wage fixing for pharmacy resident programs.</li>
<li>Representing an international insurer bringing breach-of-contract and other claims against a former policy-writing partner.</li>
<li>Representing multiple clients in confidential state attorney general antitrust investigations.</li>
<li>Represented Colorado in complex joint state-federal antitrust litigation successfully challenging Google’s search and search advertising conduct—a landmark Sherman Act Section 2 case. Colorado, et al. v. Google.</li>
<li>Defeated the Department of Justice’s challenge to the vertical merger of AT&amp;T and Time Warner (dubbed by the Hollywood Reporter as the “antitrust trial of the century”). United States v. AT&amp;T, et al.</li>

<li>Represented a major airline in a multidistrict antitrust consumer class action relating to airline capacity. In re Domestic Airline Travel Litigation.</li>
<li>Represented a key nonparty witness in the Department of Justice’s challenge to a merger of airline distribution services firms. United States v. Sabre, et al.</li>
<li>Defended a proposed merger of food service distribution firms against an FTC challenge. FTC v. Sysco, et al.</li>
<li>Represented clients in a variety of complex commercial disputes involving business tort, contract, copyright, insurance and securities claims.</li>
<li>Advised clients on criminal and civil investigations and regulatory inquiries in numerous commercial sectors, including financial services, fine arts, healthcare, health insurance, media and entertainment, public utilities and travel.</li>
