Nicholas Carson is a partner in BakerHostetler’s Chicago office and a member of the firm’s Business Practice Group and Community Development team. His practice focuses on structuring and advising on tax-advantaged investments that support community development, including renewable energy, historic, New Markets and low-income housing tax credits. He represents corporations, financial institutions and syndicators in equity investments and acquisition transactions and counsels lenders on financing tax credit-driven projects.
Before joining BakerHostetler, Nicholas was a partner at an Am Law 200 firm where he focused on tax-advantaged investing across historic, solar, New Markets and low-income housing tax credits. His experience strengthens BakerHostetler’s nationally recognized Community Development team, which brings together attorneys across the country to advise clients on federal, state and local tax credit and governmental financing programs.
Nicholas has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America® as “One to Watch” in both Tax Law and Real Estate Law and is known for his experience navigating complex financing transactions within the tax credit and incentive landscape.
