Tayan is co-leader of BakerHostetler’s Intellectual Property (IP) Technology team. His practice focuses on IP and technology-centric transactions and strategic portfolio counseling involving auditing, governance, procurement, enforcement and risk management touching emerging/high-tech and the life sciences. With more than 20 years of significant legal experience, Tayan is uniquely qualified not only to deliver results clients expect but also develop and execute strategies they may not have known were even possible. As a trusted business counselor, Tayan proactively helps locate acquisition or licensing targets for clients based on evolving business needs; conducts comprehensive IP and technology due diligence and negotiations associated with corporate transactions; and strategically handles IP, technology and data licensing agreements in the digital economy.

As a former examiner with the USPTO, Tayan is skilled at helping clients navigate contentious and non-contentious patent cases through the agency’s complex ecosystem.
