<li>Advises financial services firms – including banks, insurance companies, broker-dealers, and investment advisers – on compliance with GLBA, Regulation S-P, and other federal and state data privacy obligations, including revising policies and procedures, managing website compliance and updating disclosures.</li>
<li>Represents insurance companies in navigating obligations under the patchwork of privacy laws applicable to insurance companies and related entities.</li>
<li>Counsels digital identity service providers on compliance with federal, state, and foreign laws in providing identity verification and KYC solutions.</li>
<li>Provides data protection counseling to medical device and life sciences companies, including strategic counseling regarding compliance with emerging U.S. consumer health data laws, state privacy laws, AdTtech and cookie compliance, product privacy-by-design, consent management and vendor management.</li>
<li>Creates and supports implementation of AI governance policies, employee training on AI risks and strategies, and legal assessments of emerging AI tools and practices.</li>
<li>Advises on the requirements of privacy and data protection laws, such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and other U.S. state comprehensive privacy laws, the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) and state financial institution and insurance privacy laws, the Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and partners with clients to integrate those obligations into their operations.</li>
<li>Counsels clients on global privacy compliance for domestic and international organizations, including foreign law applicability analysis, data flow mapping, data transfer mechanisms, data localization, data subject rights request processing, employee training and regulator responses.</li>
<li>Assists with the development, implementation, assessment and maintenance of privacy compliance programs, including drafting agreements, policies, disclosures and terms.</li>
<li>Advises clients regarding vendor management, data mapping, information governance, technology assessment and data subject access request strategies and processes.</li>
<li>Drafts and negotiates data processing agreements regarding the processing of personal data and multi-party contracts in complex technology transactions.</li>
<li>Counsels on compliance with international data transfers, including data processing agreements, transfer assessments and the use of cross-border data transfer mechanisms, such as the European Union’s Standard Contractual Clauses and intra-company agreements.</li>
<li>Advises clients on legal risks and best practices related to employee privacy, including privacy notices, fleet vehicle use, employee monitoring and recording policies.</li>
<li>Represented a leading technology company in connection with a Federal Trade Commission (FTC) privacy investigation focused on the sharing of health data.</li>
<li>Guided a multinational automobile manufacturer through updates to global privacy compliance workstreams focused on employee and commercial relationships.</li>
<li>Designed, developed and implemented the global privacy and data security framework and compliance strategy for an international nonprofit.</li>
<li>Represented international and domestic financial services and technology manufacturing clients in government enforcement actions and internal investigations.</li>
