We are no longer accepting 2L applications for the 2027 Summer Associate Program. Please check back for additional information regarding 2027 1L and 2028 2L hiring.

BakerHostetler’s summer program is designed to give law students exposure to many facets of the firm’s practice. Summer Associates attend Firmwide Summer Training Programs with a robust curriculum where they have the opportunity to interact with other Summer Associates across the firm. Additionally, in their local offices, they participate in conferences, practice group sessions, depositions, trials, and other court proceedings, labor arbitrations, administrative proceedings, and business transaction closings. We closely monitor work assignments to ensure that Summer Associates work on multiple projects with a variety of lawyers in different practice areas.

Each Summer Associate is partnered with a senior associate, oftentimes a former Summer Associate, who helps facilitate introductions to other attorneys in the office and offers advice and insight on our firm, culture, and clients. We routinely provide feedback, both formal and informal, throughout the summer. Summer Associates receive ongoing comments as they work on assignments and the attorneys they work with formally evaluate their performance as assignments are completed.

At BakerHostetler, our well-rounded summer program is designed to provide students with the training, experience, and confidence necessary to begin the journey to become great lawyers who will enjoy their colleagues and their work. “Everyone at the firm is very friendly and helpful. The firm provides excellent resources and wants to see you succeed,” noted a recent Summer Associate.

BakerHostetler encourages exceptional law students who have demonstrated fortitude and grit in their path to the law and/or who are significant contributors to or leaders in their communities to apply to our Paul D. White Scholars Program.
