HEADLINES



<ul>
<li>Returning from the Fourth of July, Congress begins a busy three-week stretch before the monthlong August recess.</li>



<li>President Joe Biden begins the week in London, meeting with King Charles III and Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.</li>



<li>Biden’s European trip is centered on NATO meetings in Lithuania tomorrow and Wednesday and will conclude with meetings with Nordic leaders in Helsinki Thursday.</li>
</ul>



HOUSE



<ul>
<li>The House will <a href="https://www.majorityleader.gov/schedule/weekly-schedule.htm">vote</a> tomorrow through Friday, taking up the Fiscal Year 2024 <a href="https://armedservices.house.gov/fy24-ndaa-resources">National Defense Authorization Act</a>.</li>



<li>The Financial Services Committee will hold a series of <a href="https://financialservices.house.gov/calendar/">hearings</a> on environmental, social and governance investing and the proxy advisory industry.</li>



<li>The Judiciary Committee is set for a politically charged week, with oversight appearances on tap by Federal Bureau of Investigation Director <a href="https://judiciary.house.gov/committee-activity/hearings/oversight-federal-bureau-investigation-0">Chris Wray</a> Wednesday and Federal Trade Commission Chair <a href="https://judiciary.house.gov/committee-activity/hearings/oversight-federal-trade-commission">Lina Khan</a> Thursday.</li>

SENATE



<ul>
<li>The Senate will be in <a href="https://www.senate.gov/legislative/floor_activity_pail.htm">session</a> throughout the week, continuing to vote on Biden nominees.</li>



<li>The Senate Armed Services Committee has scheduled two nomination <a href="https://www.armed-services.senate.gov/hearings">hearings</a> for the Joint Chiefs of Staff, including Air Force General Charles Brown to be chair, amid Sen. Tommy Tuberville’s <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2023/06/30/tuberville-hold-joint-chiefs-nominee-00104465">hold</a> on confirming military promotions.   </li>



<li>The Senate Permanent Select Committee on Investigations will hold a <a href="https://www.hsgac.senate.gov/subcommittees/investigations/hearings/the-pga-liv-deal-implications-for-the-future-of-golf-and-saudi-arabias-influence-in-the-united-states/">hearing</a> titled “The PGA-LIV Deal: Implications for the Future of Golf and Saudi Arabia’s Influence in the United States.”</li>

WHITE HOUSE



<ul>
<li>Biden is in London, <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12280245/Biden-lands-London-hell-meet-King-Charles-skipping-coronation.html">meeting</a> with King Charles and Prime Minister Sunak.</li>



<li>Tonight, the president will travel to Vilnius, Lithuania, to <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/press-briefings/2023/07/07/press-briefing-by-press-secretary-karine-jean-pierre-and-national-security-advisor-jake-sullivan-5/">attend</a> a NATO Summit and meet with other heads of state Tuesday and Wednesday.</li>



<li>Thursday, Biden will <a href="https://www.presidentti.fi/en/press-release/president-niinisto-to-host-us-nordic-leaders-summit-in-helsinki/">attend</a> a U.S.-Nordic Leaders’ Summit in Helsinki before returning to Washington.<a href="https://www.bakerlaw.com/AdamJHiggins"></a></li>
